How to Know If Your Instagram Reel Is On Explore

Instagram's recent update includes what brands and creators have been waiting for, Insight Rails. Since its introduction in 2019, Rails has become an integral part of Instagram. This feature is now central to the app and is easily accessible from the homepage, feed pages, and explore page.
Instagram's efforts to promote Reels are paying off. Most brands and influencers are experimenting with this format. But, as users have taken to the feature (there are currently 169,000 Google searches for “Instagram Rails” every month!), brands have become surprisingly eager to see the results of their efforts.
Before the recent update, the only way to check Reel performance was:
Go to the Reels tab in your account to see how many views each piece of content has (shown below each thumbnail).
Open an individual Reel to see how many likes and comments it has received
And while you can still use these steps to quickly review a specific piece of content, you can now measure and track the performance of your larger rails strategy through Instagram Insights.
Instagram Explore is an awesome feature that lets you discover all sorts of amazing content customized to fit your preferences.
You can easily access it by clicking the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the app.
Once you’re there, you’ll be able to browse through a feed that’s chock full of stunning photos and videos from users all over the world.
The best part? The recommended content is based on your activity and interactions on the platform, so you’ll surely find interesting things you’ll enjoy.
And with options for exploring content ranging from popular hashtags to location-based posts, the possibilities are virtually endless.
It’s an excellent way to find new inspiration, make connections, and discover fresh perspectives.
It’s also where your Reel can get more exposure and views from a wider audience.
1.   Check your insights
One of the easiest ways to tell if your Reel is on Explore is to check your insights. Insights are analytics that shows you how your Reel is performing and where your views are coming from.
To access your insights, tap the three dots icon on your Instagram Reel and then tap View Insights. You’ll see a breakdown of your views, likes, comments, shares, saves, plays, and reach.
You’ll also see a graph that shows you where your views came from:
  • Home (your followers)
  • Explore (people who don’t follow you)
  • Profile (people who visited your profile)
  • Hashtags (people who searched for hashtags)
  • or Other (other sources)
If you see many views from Explore, your Instagram Reel is on Explore, reaching more people.
2.   Check the comments
Another way to tell if your Reel is on Explore is to check the comments.
You may notice some comments from users who don’t follow you or have verified badges, indicating that they found your Reel on Explore.
You may also see comments like “I saw this on Explore” or “Explore brought me here” that confirm that your Reel is on Explore.
3.   Check the likes
Another indicator that your Reel is on Explore is the number of likes.
If you see a sudden spike in likes or a higher-than-usual number of likes for your Reel, it may mean your Reel is on Explore and getting more attention.
Create Engaging and Relevant Content
Create content that’s as engaging and relevant as possible!
With the right approach, you can create posts your audience can’t resist interacting with, ultimately helping you gain more exposure and grow your brand.
Some ways to create engaging and relevant content are:
  • Use high-quality images and videos that capture attention and tell a story.
  • Write captivating captions that spark curiosity and conversation.
  • Use strategic hashtags that help your content get discovered by relevant users.
  • Add location tags showing where your content was created, or your business is located.
  • Experiment with formats and features like Reels, carousels, Stories, IGTV, etc.

How does Instagram choose suggested Reels

Instagram has quietly introduced a new feature that lets you easily create loops from your story highlights.
No official announcement of the feature has been made yet, but our eagle-eyed community team spotted the new dropdown option in their highlights earlier this week.
This new feature is a game changer for Instagram content creation.
Especially for repurposing content – it takes seconds for carefully curated Instagram Stories highlights to loop.
Users can edit these reels like any other reel. You can edit clip duration, delete clips, add content from your camera roll and choose from different audio tracks.
Not only is it a great editing tool, but it's also an editing time saver - Instagram will automatically sync your clips to the selected music.

In some situations, Instagram provides you with a suggested list of different user accounts, and in this way, it provides a follower suggested list. This operation is performed in two main conditions. The first condition is related to when you follow a user's account. As soon as you follow the account of an Instagram user, a section called Suggestion List appears. In this list, you will see the accounts of different people that Instagram suggests to follow.
The second mode of presenting the follow suggestion list on Instagram is related to the time when you refer to its Search section. In this situation, a collection called Suggested appears, which provides a list of Instagram users. This list is actually a list of follow suggestions, which Instagram has provided according to very specific and smart things. But in fact, what are the principles and basis of offering a follow list on Instagram in both of the above conditions?
As we mentioned before, Instagram is designed in such a way that as soon as you follow an account, you will be faced with a list called Suggested. In this list, a series of suggested accounts are presented that Instagram introduces to you and in a way suggests you to have an overview of these suggested accounts and follow them if you wish. But what is the basis and principles of presenting this suggested follow list on Instagram (Suggested)? In other words, on what basis are the accounts suggested by Instagram after following a user selected?
Instagram mentions on its official page that as soon as you follow an account on Instagram, you will see a list that includes similar accounts that you have already followed! Therefore, the first important issue is related to the field of activity and the type of Instagram account that is followed. Also, the recommended accounts are selected according to various other topics such as the number of mutual friends, the number of follows that your followers have done, etc. For example, imagine that you visit the Instagram page of a news channel and follow it. In this situation, Instagram primarily tries to provide accounts that are active in the news field in its list of follow suggestions. These accounts are included in the Instagram Suggested list based on the number of followers you have followed and the number of followers you have in common. But is it possible to disable
the display of this suggested list to follow on Instagram (Suggested)?
If for any reason you don't want to see a list as a suggestion after following an account on Instagram, don't worry. It is easy to do this, and Instagram allows you to disable the ability to display the follow suggestion list after following an account. To do this, follow the steps below:
First, you must visit the official Instagram site by clicking on this section and log in by entering your account details.
Then go to the profile section (dummy icon) and select the Edit Profile option.
Now uncheck the Similar Account Suggestions option and finally click on the Submit option.
By performing the above steps through the Instagram website, the ability to display the follow suggestion list after following an account on Instagram will be disabled. Be careful that by disabling this feature, your account will not be displayed as a suggestion for other users. So disabling this option has a two-way effect.
As we mentioned before, the second mode that Instagram offers in the follow list is related to when you visit the Search section of Instagram. In this situation, a section called Suggested will be displayed and in it you will see a list of different accounts that may even be completely unfamiliar to you! Now, our question is, what are the principles and basis of displaying this suggested follow list on Instagram (Suggested)?
Instagram uses various criteria and factors to display the follow suggestion list in the search section. This suggested list of followers on Instagram (Suggested) is provided according to the following:
The number of followers of that account
The number of visits made to that account
The number of likes for these people's posts
The number of likes that account has made on your posts
Number of comments exchanged
User search statistics
Direct messages
Therefore, Instagram considers a combination of all the above items in order to provide this follow suggestion list in the search section. Therefore, it is not surprising that if you refer to this section, you will see a list of people and accounts that are very popular among Iranians and are considered to be well-known Iranian people on Instagram. The number of views, the number of likes and the number of comments sent on the post of these people causes the Instagram formula to display their account in the list of suggestions for following in the Instagram search section.
According to the explanations that we have provided, you have probably realized what factors can lead to strengthening your chances to be included in the list of suggestions to follow on Instagram (Suggested). The first issue is related to the activation of the Similar Account Suggestions feature. If you want to be on the list of other people's follow suggestions, make sure that the Similar Account Suggestions feature is active in your account.
The next issue is related to your activity level. Try to have a lot of useful activity on Instagram in order to draw people's attention to you. One of the methods that has recently led to an increase in the audience of Instagram users is related to the use of the live video broadcast feature of Instagram. Try to attract the attention of users by sending attractive and pleasant live videos. Singing a song, playing a song with musical instruments, teaching different things, etc. are all things that can attract the attention of users in a live video and ultimately lead to your popularity.
The third issue is related to the number of your followers. The more followers you have and the more views you have on your posts, the more likely you are to be included in the Suggested list on Instagram. The fourth issue will be related to the number of comments and likes of your posts. The more posts you send are liked and the more comments are registered under them, the more chances you have to be included in the suggested list of followers on Instagram (Suggested). Therefore, in general, you have to be a relatively well-known and popular person to be able to find a place in the suggested list of followers on Instagram (Suggested). To get more information about each of these topics, you can contact the mobile experts and ask them for more detailed guidance.

Inappropriate Instagram Suggested Reels Take Control of Your Feed!

Instagram keeps changing the maximum length of loops, making it difficult to keep track. So how much can they be?
Creators who successfully use Instagram circles can increase their account's visibility on the platform and thus increase their followers.
Since the launch of Reels, Instagram has made many changes to the feature. One of them is length, which has steadily increased over time.
But how long will Instagram reels last in 2022? Let's find out.
Starting July 2022, you can share up to 90-second Instagram loops with your audience. The social media giant started rolling out the long term in June 2022.
This means you can create up to six times more Instagram circles than when the feature first launched. Reels could last up to 15 seconds at launch, but Instagram quickly decided to increase that to 30 seconds – which lasted for almost a year.
Instagram also extended the shelf life of your reels in August 2021. Back then, you could publish content that was up to 60 seconds long. Eventually, the time limit was changed back to the current amount.
Even if you regularly post Instagram circles, you still need to make sure your content provides value to reach more people. We've written a guide with tips for creating viral loops. It's worth checking out if you want to increase your presence.
Inappropriate Reels can include videos that contain vulgar language, sexual content, violence, or other sensitive topics that users may not want to see on their feeds.
They can also include spammy, low-quality, or unrelated videos to the user’s interests.
These Reels can ruin the user’s experience and make them uncomfortable or annoyed.
Fortunately, Instagram offers ways to avoid or filter out inappropriate suggested Reels on the platform.
Users can remove or snooze specific Reels or creators that they don’t like or enjoy.
They can also adjust their content preferences to see more or less sensitive content on their feed.
By doing so, users can have a more personalized and enjoyable experience on Instagram.
  • Remove Inappropriate Suggested Reels on Instagram
One of the easiest ways to avoid Instagram suggested reels inappropriate is to remove them from your feed.
This will help Instagram learn your preferences and recommend fewer videos like them in the future.
Instagram takes these reports seriously and will investigate any content that is flagged as inappropriate.
By working with its user base, Instagram can ensure its platform remains a safe space for all to enjoy.
Removing inappropriate suggested reels is an ongoing process, but with constant vigilance and effort, progress can be made toward a more positive and impactful online experience for Instagram users.
To remove an inappropriate suggested Reel on Instagram, follow these steps:
  1. Tap the three dots on the video near the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap ‘Not interested,’ and the post will instantly be hidden.
  3. You can also tap ‘Don’t suggest posts from [user]’ to block all content from that creator.
  4. Tapping on “Don’t suggest posts with certain words” is an option for users who wish to exclude suggested Reels with particular phrases or emojis in captions or hashtags.
You can do this for any suggested Reel on your main feed or the Instagram Reels page.
To access the latter, tap the video player icon at the bottom of the screen.
A video will start playing, and you can swipe up to scroll through other Reels.
If you don’t mind seeing suggested Reels but wish they were less sensitive or controversial, you can adjust your content preferences using a new setting called ‘Sensitive Content Control’.
Instagram’s Sensitive Content Control is the perfect tool to filter out potentially sensitive or offensive material from your Explore page and Search results.
By turning on this feature, you can take control of your Instagram experience and create a more positive and safe environment for yourself.
Filtered content may include posts that contain graphic violence, sexual content, or other material that may be upsetting or offensive to you.
In addition to Sensitive Content Control, Instagram offers tools like muting and blocking accounts to help you manage your social media experience.
These features let you curate a feed that aligns with your values and interests, leading to a more enjoyable and engaging online community.
Using this setting, you can manage the sensitive content visible on your feed, such as suggested accounts, hashtag pages, searches, and Reels.
To filter sensitive content on Instagram, follow these steps:
  1. Go to your profile and tap the three lines in the upper right corner.
  2. Tap ‘Settings’ and then tap ‘Account’.
  3. Tap ‘Sensitive Content Control’ and choose one of the three options: Allow, Limit, or Limit Even More.
  4. Allow will show you more types of content, including some that may be upsetting or offensive.
  5. The limit will apply the default settings for most people and reduce some types of sensitive content.
  6. Limit Even More will show you the least amount of sensitive content.
This new setting extends that control to recommended content in your feed, including Reels, searches, suggested accounts, and hashtag pages.

How to change Instagram reel content in 3 Easy Ways!

As a full-fledged social network, Instagram competes with Snapchat and Tik Tok, trying to add more capabilities each time. This time we see that by adding Rails to his audience, he will satisfy himself.
Reels is a feature that I can use to make videos from 15 seconds to 1 minute. Generally, reels are something funny, comedy, entertaining or educational, and because of this, they are highly appreciated by the audience.
According to Instagram's policies, they cannot do the same function for all people at the same time. But this activation is done only for a few people and in the images that open it for the positive, it will gradually increase.
If you eventually find that a lot of people like it, they'll eventually enable the new feature for everyone.
If you log into your Instagram account and find that you can't create rails, you probably need to update the app or uninstall and reinstall it.
If after doing these things, the Rails icon is still displayed for you, then this feature is probably not activated for you yet, and you should wait for this to happen after a while, for example a few months.
This is true for other issues as well. For example, many people still don't have replayability in Direct, while many have been using it for several years.
The first way to change Instagram reel content is before posting it. This is when you have the most editing options and flexibility.
You can use the built-in tools in the Instagram app or third-party apps for more advanced editing.
Here are some of the things you can do to change Instagram reels content before posting:

You can also use the align tool to create seamless transitions between clips.
3.   Adjust speed
You can change the playback speed of your video to create slow-motion or fast-forward effects. You can also use the timer tool to set the duration of each clip.
4.   Trim clips
You can trim your video clips by dragging the ends of the timeline. You can also delete unwanted clips by tapping on them and selecting Delete.
